Why am I charged a monthly Administrative Fee on my invoice?
The Urban Meters and Readers monthly Admin Fee is for calculating, processing and managing the meter reading and billing for the property.
How are my utilities calculated?
Billing is one month in arrears, so statements mailed in June will cover usage used in the prior month of May. If the unit is individually sub metered, the tenant will pay for the usage used and calculated from the meter readings collected. For properties without submeters, an allocation method called Ratio Utility Billing Solution or RUBS is used based upon either the total square footage of the unit, occupant count, and or bedroom count.

Why have my utility costs increased?
Several factors will cause an increase in utility cost, they can range from an increase in rate structure from the utility service providers, out of town guests, changes in water habits or leaks. If you suspect you may have a leak, contact your property’s management or maintenance staff immediately. A leaky toilet can use up to 200 gallons per day which can add up fast causing a spike in the usage and costs billed.
