In multifamily properties without submeters, water utilities are typically the largest, uncontrolled expenditure.

We recently partnered with a mobile home park in order to help them become more efficient with water conservation and bring these expenses under control. Our services include new construction meter installation, retrofitting, meter testing, maintenance, meter reading, utility billing and collection services.

How does it work?
A meter is installed in each unit and each meter has a wireless transmitter which sends consumption data through a repeater network to a central collector (RDL) located at the community. The RDL receives and stores the data until it’s retrieved for billing. Data is downloaded for billing and Urban Meters & Readers accesses the data remotely and allocates the appropriate charges to each resident. Data is built into a file and then ready for your billing service.

Urban Meters & Readers provides accurate, easy to read bills mailed directly to the consumer or to the property management. We provide wireless technology using remote reading devices, eliminating the need to enter dwellings to read meters.

Why partner with Urban Meters?
Submetering impacts your business and the planet. With only 43 residential units, the average monthly water usage is over 205,000 gallons. Installing submeters at your multifamily property reduces water consumption by at least 20%. With an average monthly cost of $5,500 for water, you will save $1,100 with submetering for only 43 units!

Not only will installing submeters help you to take charge of your most important resource, it will also increase the profitability of your mobile home community.
